What is GuessTheSong?

A name that tune game built around very short clips. Each song comes with six clips, each longer than the last: 0.1 second, 0.5 second, 2 seconds, 8 seconds, 15 seconds and 30 seconds. A wrong guess or a skip unlocks the next one. The shorter the clip you find it on, and the faster you answer, the more points you score.

Songs are sorted into five levels by how well known they are: Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert and Insane. Easy means hits everyone knows, Insane means tracks almost nobody remembers.

Ways to play

Every mode uses the same clips and the same scoring, so the skill you build in one carries over to the others.

  • Song of the day: five new songs every day, one per level, the same for everyone. It resets at midnight UTC and needs no account, like a daily Heardle style puzzle.
  • Duels: two players hear the same clip at the same time. Each starts with 2000 health points and the slower player takes damage every round.
  • Ranked: the same duel with a rating (Glicko-2), seasons of about three months and ranks from Demo to Headliner.
  • Party rooms: a private room for 2 to 8 players with a shareable code, your choice of rounds, levels and songs, and optional voice chat.
  • Solo: choose themes and levels, or import a public Spotify or Deezer playlist and play your own music.

Who is it for?

Anyone who likes music: a quick daily ritual on the bus, a song quiz with friends on a game night, a competitive ladder for players who want to prove their ears. A streamer mode hides chat, names and room codes on stream.
