  • GuessTheSong is a free, non-commercial hobby project published by an individual in France.
  • One address for everything: [email protected].
  • The site is hosted in France, in the Paris region, by Amazon Web Services.

Publisher

The site guessthesong.gg is published by an individual living in France, on a non-professional and non-profit basis.

As the law allows non-professional publishers (article 1-1, II of French law no. 2004-575 of June 21, 2004 on confidence in the digital economy), the publisher does not publish their identity: their name, address and phone number have been given to the host, which can pass them on to the authorities on request.

Contact: [email protected]. The project is also on X: @TryGuessTheSong.

Publication director

The publisher themself, reachable at [email protected]. A right of reply request can be sent to them at this address, or to the host, which forwards it.

Contact and single point of contact

For any question, request or complaint: [email protected]. We reply in French, English or German.

This address is the service's single point of contact, for users as well as for the authorities of the Member States, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services (articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, the Digital Services Act). It is read by a person, not a bot.

Reporting illegal content

If you have an account, the easiest way is the "Report" button on the player's profile or in the chat. Otherwise, write to [email protected] with:

  • the content concerned: the username, the page link or a screenshot;
  • why you believe it is illegal or against the terms of use;
  • your name and email address;
  • a statement that you are reporting in good faith and that the information is accurate.

We acknowledge receipt, review the report quickly and tell you what we decided. Moderation and appeals are described in detail in the terms of use.

Music, intellectual property and credits

Music previews (30 seconds at most), titles, artist names and covers are provided by the Deezer API and belong to their rights holders. They are only used for the game and cannot be downloaded.

The titles and covers of playlists imported from Spotify come from Spotify, and those of YouTube playlists from YouTube. GuessTheSong is not affiliated with or endorsed by Deezer, Spotify, YouTube or Google.

The artists' country of origin, used to offer songs from your country, partly comes from MusicBrainz (data under the CC0 license).

Rights holders. If you hold rights in content on the site and want it removed, write to [email protected] saying which content and what your rights are: we remove it promptly.

The GuessTheSong name, logo and site design belong to the publisher. Sound effect credits are in the terms of use.

Accessibility

We want GuessTheSong to be usable by as many people as possible and we aim for level AA of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines, the basis of the French RGAA standard. As a site run by an individual, GuessTheSong is not subject to the legal accessibility obligation, but we apply these rules anyway.

Compliance status: partially compliant. This is a self-assessment, not a full RGAA audit: the main pages (home, song of the day, solo games, rooms, matches, leaderboards, profiles, settings, legal pages and FAQ) are checked automatically with axe-core on mobile and desktop, and by hand with the keyboard.

What is in place: full keyboard navigation with a visible focus, a skip to content link, the language of each page declared, text alternatives, checked contrast, accessible dialogs, and reduced animations when your system asks for them.

Known limitations:

  • the game is about listening to music: there is no alternative for deaf or hard of hearing people, since that is the very principle of the game;
  • rounds are timed, which is part of the real-time game;
  • voice chat has no transcription.

If you run into an accessibility problem, write to [email protected] describing the page and the problem: we will reply and look for a solution. If you do not get a satisfactory answer, you can contact the French Défenseur des droits.
